A treaty between the United States and the former Soviet Union that aimed to eliminate and ban all ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles with a range of 300-3,400 miles (500-5,500 kilometers). By May 1991, all intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles, launchers, related support were eliminated.
